Foss Haus Self Check-Out Procedures

If you’ve been offered a self check-out, just follow these instructions and we'll refund most of your cleaning fee (we still have to do your laundry and dump the garbage). You can also have a 3:30 pm late checkout instead of 11 am. 

• Linens/Towels

  • Place all used linens and towels inside the blue Ikea bag inside the bathroom closet.

  • Replace bed sheets and pillowcases.

    • Linens for the beds are in the dresser drawers for each room. You only need to replace the sheets and pillow cases. Only replace the duvet cover if you've gotten something on it. 

  • Replace bathroom towels on the towel racks.

    • Towels are located in the bins behind the living room sofa. 

    • Towels do not need a fancy display, although it’s welcomed!  Just make sure there are 2 full sized towels on the large towel rack, and you replace the hand towels and wash cloths.. Place a black washcloth on the sink counter top. 

• Kitchen

  • Wash and dry all dirty dishes and put away in cabinets.

  • Wipe down stove and counter tops with cleaner located under the sink.

  • Clean and wipe down coffee pot and other appliances.

  • Wipe down oven if used.

  • Clean sink.

  • Remove perishable food from fridge, and wipe down if needed.

• Bathroom

  • Clean and wipe down shower with cleaner located under the bathroom  sink.

  • Wipe down toilet and use cleaner from under sink and brush as needed.

  • Wipe down sink, and clean mirror with window cleaner.

• Living area

  • Wipe down the side table. Make sure all remotes are back on it. 

  • Put away all DVDs.

  • Put away any toys or games that were used. 

  • Make sure fireplace hearth is wiped down and clean.

  • Leave a kitchen light on for the next guests. 

• Sleeping areas

  • Make used beds with clean linens.

  • Replace throw pillows and blankets.

• Vacuum

  • The downstairs vacuum is behind the bedroom door. The upstairs vacuum is in plain site up there :-)

• Outside

  • Pick up any trash, cigarette butts, gum, pet messes, etc. as needed.

Most of this is common sense. Please use your best judgment and make sure it’s a clean, comfortable place for our next guests. If you have any questions, feel free to call or text anytime.
